Problem
Johnnie is a Prime student who wants to capture and preserve the memories of his journey as he begins learning how to code. He wants a way to document his experiences and milestones in a meaningful and memorable way.
Process:
Initial research
I gathered insights through interviews with fellow Prime cohort members, exploring their opinions on receiving a picture frame as a welcome gift at Prime. Using the think-aloud protocol, I aimed to understand why this gesture was meaningful to them.
Usability testing
To better understand the value of using a picture frame as a welcome gift, I conducted usability testing to gather user opinions on its effectiveness. I also observed reasons why users might not choose to use it. Using the think-aloud protocol, I had participants describe how they would use a picture frame and what made it meaningful or not.
Recommandation:
Affordability: Consider using picture frames as welcome gifts because they are both affordable and accessible, making them an excellent option for a wide range of budgets.
Personalization: Personalize picture frames to create a meaningful gift. They offer a thoughtful way to capture and commemorate special moments, allowing recipients to reflect on significant times in their lives.
What I learned
The two users I interviewed both supported the idea of using a picture frame as a memorable gift. They appreciated its sentimental value and felt it would make a thoughtful, lasting keepsake.
